What is adventure ministry?
Adventure Ministry programmes deliberately uses adventurous experiences to create evangelism and faith development opportunities in the individual either through self or group learning.

How is this achieved?

Participants will go through the adventure experience and with the assistance of a facilitator, would reflect upon their experience and subsequently assimilated into the word of God and to apply lessons learnt in a personal way.

What activities are used in adventure ministry?
There are various adventure activities available such as abseiling and rock climbing, adventure games, archery, kayaking, mountain-biking, orienteering, raft-building, ropes course, white water-rafting, camping and expedition.

How effective is adventure ministry?
Research shows that 10% of people learn through listening, another 10% learn through seeing but over 80% of the people learn through doing. Adventure ministry uses ‘doing’ as a channel to deliver the message.

Who runs an adventure ministry programme in Malaysia?
MAPs (Ministering through Adventure Programme) Services is a Malaysia-based Christian Ministry founded in 2004. It has hence existed in Penang, Klang Valley and in Johor Bahru. It is staffed by over 30+ trained volunteer instructors reaching out to young people every weekend.

What can MAPs do for my organization?
MAPs runs activities for students from secondary school onwards on weekends for a minimum of 10 participants up to a maximum of 20 participants. We do off-the-shelve programmes that will suit most Christian organizations. We are not able, at this point, to run tailor-made programmes.
